Land management policies

Indigenous Services Canada offers a variety of land management services to First Nations, including a suite of tools to provide guidance on how it interprets and administers the land provisions of the Indian Act. Indigenous Services Canada is collaborating with First Nation partners to modernize land management policies to reduce barriers, streamline processes, and promote greater First Nations participation in land and economic development decision-making on reserve. Whether for community, individual or economic development purposes, Indigenous Services Canada works in concert with First Nations to ensure sustainable on-reserve community development that is reflective of First Nations' needs and priorities.
